The company was started in 2013 by Andrew Harte. As a young Civil Engineer, Andrew Harte arrived in Melbourne from Ireland for the next stage of his career. Andrew saw first-hand that poor-quality plant hire was disrupting construction projects of all sizes, resulting in delays, frustration and impacting project costs. With a determination to provide only late-model, low-hour machines, he set up his own plant-hire business, Harte Excavations, recently rebranded to HEXhire.
Operations began with just two excavators; HEXhire now has an extensive range of equipment available for hire every day to contractors all over the Melbourne and Adelaide region and beyond. From excavators and site dumpers to solar lights, generators and more, the range continues to grow.
